The Legacy Project's mission is to preserve the history of the Iranian Jewish experience through accessible and engaging content that serves to educate and bridge generations. We must race against the clock to record the harrowing stories, moments and memories of Jewish Iran passed through oral tradition, so that they will stand the test of time.
WHY DO WE NEED IT?
Our 2700 year long legacy should not end, just because our new home is America. Our history as a unique segment of the Jewish population, Iranian Mizrahi Jews, can not survive without records. We want to maintain our identity, culture, and traditions. This is increasingly important as the second and third generations of Iranian Jews grow up in the United States. The need to conserve our stories is greater than ever. The Legacy Project provides an avenue to perpetuate our history in a way that will be both accessible to scholars and to future American born generations.
THE FUTURE OF LEGACY
The future of the Legacy Project depends on you. Professional recording is a necessary expense for archiving our history. Please contribute to preserving our legacy by volunteering to share your memories (contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information).
